Who's falling In Love!

It was love that brought about my conception. It was love that carried me in my mother’s womb. It was love that kept her strong through her labor and my delivery. It was love that guided me from childhood to adulthood. It was love that I yearned for. It was love that found me. It was love that united me with the one created for me. It was love that sent Jesus to offer me salvation. It was love that protected me from my own flesh, desires, and agendas. It was love that saved me from my anguish. It was the voice of love that whispered sweet assurances. Was it love or was it God? Perhaps it was love and it was God because the bible says, God is love! (1 John 4:8)

Adopted from a series I’m currently reading, it suggested that when you see the word love, interchange it with God! So, look at the above again and fall deeper in love!

It was God that brought about my conception. It was God that carried me in my mother’s womb. It was God that kept her strong through her labor and my delivery. It was God that guided me from childhood to adulthood. It was God that I yearned for. It was God that found me. It was God that united me with the one created for me. It was God that sent Jesus to offer up salvation. It was God that protected me from my own flesh, desires, and agendas. It was God that saved me from my anguish. It was the voice of God that whispered sweet assurances. It has always been God being God!

Seeking love is truly seeking God! You cannot love unless you know and love God! 1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. Love is not in the woman or man your heart has deceived you to desire! Love is not in the things you purchase or the food you cannot stop eating. Love is in the Father. He loves us with an everlasting love. When we fall in love with Him first, we begin to experience real love. I encourage you to fall in love with the right one this time. He promises that His love is patient, it is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. His Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Beloved, that is what you call true love! Believe in His love! Rest in His Love!

Depression and Anxiety~It’s real and the secret must come out!

Standard

fcf305cc6f48c2cffc2394f65fc16ae4It’s really hush hush when it comes to believers talking about depression and anxiety! I think it’s time to set it straight and let the secret out. Why is it time? It’s time because the devil operates in secrets, lies, and hush hush conversations. We spend most of our lives building images that are falsely represented by our ability to cover up what is truly going on internally. We smile, we laugh, and we brag in the public’s eye. We brag that we are blessed! Indeed we are; but if someone went home with us or could take a microscope and glanced deeper behind the mask, we would find many that we talk with, worship with, and even minister with are dealing with something that is so real.

Being once a victim; but now a victor, I want to set the record straight to those who are dealing with the realities of depression and anxiety! It is a trick of the enemy and as long as you keep it a hidden secret between the devil and yourself he has the upperhand. James 5:16 says, Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. Beloved, if you are drowning, and overtaken do not sit and think the devil is going to give up on his attack. He is not! He is doing his job and he knows how to do it well. Our job is to believe in God’s word, confess it out loud, pray with others, and watch God work! I love Romans 8. In this chapter, we’re reminded that if God be for us, nothing can be against us. We are more than conquerors. Do not let the enemy lie to you! Christ has already won this battle. John 16:33 says, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” At all times, guard your heart and your mind by who you surround yourself with! Find you a prayer partner! Find you someone that will pour life into you! Lastly, take refuge in the Word of God! Remind God of His Word. Isaiah 55:11 tells us this, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me void.

Let’s Pray,

Thank you Father that you have exposed the enemy! The spirits of the depression and anxiety must depart your people. They are old tricks of the enemy and you have given us power and victory over them both. Lord, I stand in the gap for my family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors that may be secretly dealing with these evils. No more shall depression rest in our minds. Heal every organ that has been affected by this demon. I call everything into complete order, the mind, the body, and the soul. Thank you that we can return to the place in which you intended for us to be, perfect peace. You are a healer and a deliver and I trust that you hear this prayer today! In Jesus Name! Amen.

Are you hiding amongst the Baggage? 1 Samuel 10

Standard

You no longer have to hide!

You no longer have to hide!

I’m not talking about Michael Kors or Coach! I’m talking about the things of old. I have been told twice that I am a new creation and although we all are; it did not sink into my spirit until I read 1 Samuel Ch. 10. In short, Israel wanted a King and even in their rebellion God gave them a king. King Saul was His anointed and appointed. When Samuel informed Saul of his new appointment he prophesied to him and said, 6 At that time the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person.

God had chosen him, anointed him, placed His spirit upon him, and gave him a new heart. But, watch this! As Samuel began to present the new king. Verse 22 reads: And finally Saul son of Kish was chosen from among them. But when they looked for him, he had disappeared! 22 So they asked the Lord, “Where is he?” They could not find Saul. And the Lord replied, “He is hiding among the baggage.” Are the people asking, “Where is he?” “Where is she? Even the King was hiding among the baggage. There are still times in my life when I run like Saul and I hide among the baggage. I hide behind fear, guilt, shame, insecurity, rejection, hurts, and pains. Are you hiding behind any baggage today. The truth is, God has chosen us, anointed us, placed His spirit upon us through salvation, and has created a new heart within us. There is no need to hide anymore! Verse 23 says, So they found him and brought him out, and he stood head and shoulders above anyone else.

If you know anyone like Saul today, please help bring them out through encouragement, prayer, and compassion. God’s Kings and Queens no longer have to hide among the baggage. We’re free through Christ Jesus!!!!! Hallelujah! Amen!

Unspoken Words~ Dr. Jerome McNeil: A Letter to My Pastor

Standard

Jerome McNeil Jr. (2)Dear Pastor McNeil,

I never got to tell you thank you for recognizing that I had missed service, only shortly after I had joined Christian Chapel. I really didn’t even know you knew my name; but some how in your own swag, you walked up behind me and asked, “Where have you been?” You noticed me out of all the people God had given to you to guard, protect, and pray for.

Then, your presence did not disappear in my life. Thank you and Lady Billye for driving over 100 miles to marry me and my husband. Thank you Pastor for blessing, anointing, and baptizing our first born son. Thank you for traveling out to our new home and blessing it. In other words, thank you for being a part of our milestones. I can’t even stop saying thank you. I’m not sure if you knew it or not; but you were a father when my relationship with my father was strain. It was so natural for you to say, “I love you.” “I’m proud of you.” or “Preach Preacher Preach.” You believed in what God was doing in my life and didn’t question His calling or become threaten by His decision to call me. You saw me on the news and asked me what the interview was all about? LOL You prayed with me for my mother during her time of trial. You called my family, checked on us, and prayed with or for us.

My heart ached the day I found out, some thousands miles away, that God had called you home to be with Him in glory. How selfish I was to think that what seemed always would always be. Who was I to rest under your ministry and not think that one day God would promote you to the next level you had so often expressed to us?

I still look for you from time to time. Although I know you will not be standing in the back of the sanctuary, walking in the balcony, or in the pulpit looking at the choir and all their anointing, I still feel your presence and hear your voice.

I want others to know when God puts such an awesome man of God in your life gratitude never leaves your spirit! You will be forever remembered and I will share your legacy to generation to generation!

Love Always,
Minister Rachell Lucas

Prayer of Thanksgiving:
I must thank you Lord! Thank you for knowing what we needed when we needed it. Thank you Lord that you shared your servant and through all the gifts you gave him; lives were impacted, transformed, restored, and empowered. You God alone, are perfect in all your ways! Why wouldn’t you want a servant like this home with you in glory? Now, teach us, guide us, mold us, hold us, and be merciful unto us. Much work is yet to be done and it can’t be done without you! You alone are in control! Have your way and make our paths straight. In Jesus Name.

Amen.

The answer is…God Loves Me!

It’s so amazing when something you have known for such a long time takes a new meaning and you look at it from a new perspective. Recently, God has been teaching me about His love. When we begin to understand the love He has for us then we begin to walk in freedom. 1 John 4:18 says There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. So, as the intimacy with Father grows, I begin to understand in all my quest, in all my questioning, in all my circumstances, and in my journey He has answered me all along. God loves Me!

In the valley, God loves me! On the mountain top, God loves me! When I have, God loves me! When I’m in need, God loves me! When I’m lonely, God loves me! When I fail to be all that I was created to be, God still loves me! It’s in the valley that He loves me enough to come through and be my hero. It’s on the mountain top that he exemplifies what a supporter and an encourager He really is. When I have, He is showing me that He can do all things! When I’m in need He radiates as my source! When I’m lonely He shows up as my friend! Lastly, when I fail to walk in His purpose and fall to sinful desires He showers me with new mercies and new grace! I’ve asked myself over and over what kind of love is this?

Today, as you are faced with the things of this life and you have questions such as Who? What? When? and How? you already have the answer. It’s because God loves you!

Counting it All Joy,
Minister Lucas
